Student Turns Passion into Fashion

Nhlanhla Ngcobo, raised by his Aunt from the ghettos of Durban in an impoverished village.

Ngcobo (21) has completed a degree in Consumer Sciences and is currently studying towards his Honour’s postgraduate studies. He also co-owns clothing label called Versus Originals.

According to Ngcobo, Versus Originals is a private black owned clothing brand. His business trademark was officially registered in 2017.

In love with the fashion, two young excited brothers, Nhlahla Ngcobo and Kwanele Ngcobo decided to start a clothing label. The brand is known for three things, simplicity, unisexuality and high quality.

Only registered a few years ago, the young student entrepreneur has already with some impressive names in the entertainment industry. He has worked with the likes of Zipho Mthembu aka Goldmax from distruction boys, Jackie Mcombothi who is a presenter and radio personality and Mangaliso Mhlongo the comedian artist to name a few.

Through, all this but he has not changed or lost touch with reality, he is very down to earth and has much respect to humanity.

His advice to all young entrepreneurs out there is, “build a reliable and solid network, I know it might sound cheesy but they say your network is your net worth. If I can do it, you too can make it too”.
