RETURNING STUDENTS REGISTRATION

During further engagements with the SRC administrator (Mr Makhoba) the following decisions were made in an effort to address more of the challenges students are facing:

Registration for returning students

Registration for continuing students that are academically deserving but financially challenged was extended for another week up to Friday 7 February 2020. This will apply to the following categories of returning students that have not been able to register due to previous debt:

  1. Students that appealed to NSFAS and who can prove academic progress with a pass for a minimum of 50% of registered modules in 2019 will be able to submit proof of the NSFAS appeal and sign an Acknowledgement of Debt to be cleared for registration. NSFAS rules require a pass rate of at least 50% of modules each year.
  2. Students who need a minimum of 1 module and a maximum of 3 modules to be able to complete their qualification in 2020. In this case students will have to obtain the signature of the relevant Head of the Academic Department on the academic record and sign an Acknowledgement of Debt to be verified and cleared for registration.
