Lessons Student House Comm female leaders learnt during 2018/2019

It is a sad but a happy moment to bid farewell to our UNIZULU female leaders from the 2018-2019 Student Housing Committee.

It has been a challenging but exciting journey for this committee of 2018-2019, of which for the first time ever in UNIZULU history it was led by a female chairperson, Nompumelelo Khaba.

Being a student leader requires reliability, unselfishness, willingness to put students’ needs first and compromising.

These are some of the lessons learned during their tenure as the 2018/9 House committee members.

According Khaba she learnt a lot through her stint as Chairperson, if she had known how things would have turned out, she would have approached things differently to make real change for students living in residences.

She also encourages more female students to run for presidential positions and also participate in res programs to form sisterhood at res.

Former secretary Nqobile Cele advises the upcoming committee to work together and put their differences aside.
