The University of Zululand’s hockey team has done us proud after excelling at the University Sport South Africa Winter Games which took place at various places across the country. The men’s hockey came first in Category C at the tournament held in Tshwane University of Technology and subsequently promoted to Category B. The netball team did not disappoint as well as they got second position in Category C in a tournament held at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

The hockey team is doing wonders in the Zululand League and its three players; Warren van der Merwe, Berto Basson, Mthokozisi Nkosi participated in the KwaZulu-Natal Country District Tournament in Pietermaritzburg recently. The students will represent the District in the forthcoming interprovincial tournament to be held in Durban on 25-30 August 2014.
