Mfanafuthi’s rise in the comedy game

During Early August, UNIZULU student Mfanafuthi Ngema hosted an electrifying event, Mfanafuthi Comedy Extravaganza, at the full-to-capacity King Bhekuzulu Hall, on KwaDlangezwa campus.

Mfanafuthi Ngema is a young rising star from a local community called Ezikoshi, in Mthunzini. This young rising star has become an inspiration to many as he has done wonders by showing off and embracing his talent of comedy.

Ngema started following his passion by writing short stories, novels and poetry. He used to enter numerous poetry competitions while he was still a pupil at Ophindo High school and Dlamvuzo High school. However, he realized that comedy was more for him than poetry because of the feedback he received whenever he was doing poetry at school or at church.

His recent show, Mfanafuthi Comedy Extravaganza featured equally talented comedians such as former UNIZULU student comedian Gqonqa, Simphiwe Shembe, Justice Kubheka, Siyanda Maphumulo and many more.

Ngema advised young people and UNIZULU students to always pursue their dreams even when no one believes in them.

“You are the one who must convince people to believe in you through your actions. Make yourself a good brand”, he said.
