APPOINTMENT: CARE MANAGER (Nqobile Mthembu)

The University of Zululand (UNIZULU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nqobile Mthembu as Care Manager in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor.

Mthembu’s appointment began on 1 January 2021. Her role entails rendering pastoral support and counselling as well as assisting students to make confident choices that affect their present state, while also offering a confidential referral process. Her short-term goal for her office is to provide guidance to students to speak up about gender based violence.

Mthembu was born and bred in a deep rural area called Ntuze Reserve in the kingdom of Kwa-Mkhwanazi under uMhlathuze Municipality. She holds a Bachelor of Education from the UNIZULU. She draws her strength from the quote: “Prayer is a petition for extra energy for our success. God is the source of all energies, the centers, the powerhouse of light, life and love. Through prayer we can reach to that powerhouse and draw the energy for expanding the field of our mind and the horizon of our consciousness.”

Her mantra is the scripture in Philippians 4:13 which reads: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

After a long day at work, she usually spends time with her family and also attends prayer sessions on weekdays.

UNIZULU wishes Mthembu well and trusts that her time with the University will be fruitful.
