The event is organised by the University’s Employee Relations and Wellness unit which also runs the Mpilonhle-Good Health programme aimed at promoting the holistic wellbeing of UNIZULU staff members through counselling, financial and physical wellness, among other initiatives.

According to Smangele Simelane, a Specialist in the Employee Relations and Wellness unit, this year’s Employee Wellness Day programme will be nothing short of exciting as various service providers in the wellness field will be present to have one-on-one interactions with staff members.

“This will provide a one-stop-shop for employees to engage with service providers and acquire knowledge about the physical, financial and emotional aspects of wellness. There will also be health screenings which will ensure that employees are informed about their health statuses, so the event caters for everyone,” Simelane said.

Special guests such as Musa Njoko, a renowned HIV/AIDS activist, and Dr Steve Molefe, a Specialist Psychiatrist in private practice have been invited to address members of staff on matters relating to healthy living. Many other guests from the public and private sectors will be present too.

The day will conclude with a series of games which staff will be encouraged to participate in, followed by lucky draws, said Simelane.

The event will take place as follows:
Date: Thursday, 5 October 2017
Time: 09h00
Venue: UNIZULU Sports Ground (Ellispark)
